Halloween isn't just for littles, and while we all love all the cute traditions with the kids (and their candy stash), sometimes, it's fun to hang out with friends and enjoy some of the spooky offerings the holiday brings.
Below we have listed some of the local haunts and scary walkthroughs that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. These events are great for teens, date nights, or adult nights out. Most of these places require advanced tickets so check the website before you go.

The Carnival of Terror- Act 2 (Chaffey Theater Company)- (Ontario) Wanna be scared? Chaffey High School hosts an amazing haunted walk-through in the already creepy basement of their historic building. This year the Carnival of Terror is back!- Act 2. Get your tickets online - Runs 5 days , October 27-31st!
Dark Harvest Haunted Corn Maze - (Chino) Dark Harvest, a newer haunted attraction, will open on two acres of corn at Frosty’s Forest and Pumpkin Patch in Chino this Halloween season. There’s a massive corn maze, which will take nearly thirty minutes to complete, and a scare zone and other frightful surprises. The haunted maze will be an eerie fright separate from their regular 4-acre themed corn maze! Dark Harvest will be open Thursday through Sunday nights starting at 7PM.
Castle Dark - (Riverside) For six wicked weekends, true nightmares emerge when Castle Park transforms into fright-filled Castle Dark.
The Evil Morgana has opened her spell book, summoning haunts, ghouls, and monsters from every nook. She’s captured Merlin and locked him away, leaving you alone to navigate sinister traps and find your own way. Frightening characters on every corner haunt three new mazes, where scare zones abound. Castle Park’s 2 dozen rides & attractions, as well as their 4 award-winning miniature golf courses, will operate during Castle Dark. Runs Fri-Sun through October 29th.
Knotts Scary Farm -(Buena Park) Knott’s Scary Farm is the largest and most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, with unimaginable scares and innovative thrills that can’t be found anywhere else. The fully transformed theme park features uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, sinister shows, and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park. These haunted attractions have the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare. But unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from -- which makes it the thing to do for Halloween. Knott’s Scary Farm is not recommended for children under 13.
LA Haunted Hay Ride (Los Angeles) Be transported into an immersive world of ghosts, psychopathic clowns, vicious demons and Halloween magic. There are 4 Scare Zones: House of Shadows, Trick or Treat, Purgatory, and the Haunted Hayride. Haunted Orange County Ghost Walk Haunted Orange County is Southern California’s largest source of haunted entertainment and historical ghost walks. Haunted Hayride @ Greenspot Farms - (Mentone) Looking for some bone-chilling fun? Well, Greenspot Farms has become well known for its thrilling Haunted Hayride. The taunting old farmer is back with his twisted family for thirteen nights of horror to reclaim what is "THEIRS!" They haunt the ravines, orchards, and lonely winding roads, searching for others, (YOU) to entertain them. We have taken you down dark winding roads and into the orchards filled with haunting screams. Haunted Hayride, Haunted Trail, Smores and Campfire.
SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream - (San Diego) After a successful "inaugural fear", Howl-O-Scream will once again arrive to transform the peaceful SeaWorld San Diego park you once knew into something sinister. When night falls and a carnival of horrifying creatures surrounds you, just try to put on a happy face. Evade angry haunts as they rampage through scare zones.
