Warrior for Children Making a Footprint in the Inland Empire

So often when we think of charity organizations making a difference in the lives of traumatized children, we think big-ticket items. Many times, however, it’s the simple things like a hairbrush, a bar of soap, or a pair of socks that make a child of trauma feel normal. Warrior for Children is filling the gaps for children of trauma, whether it be with tangible items like diapers and toys, arranging for community-based education, or simply advocating for a child.

Founded by trauma nurse and Alta Loma resident Jennifer Corbett in 2018, Warrior for Children has been able to meet the needs of more than 700 families and children suffering from trauma in the Inland Empire. Corbett says, “Our footprint may be small, but we are mighty! We will never stop fighting for kids and families that have experienced trauma. We want to do more, but we can’t do it without the help of the community. Our arms don’t reach long enough.”

Some of the things Warrior for Children does for their families includes:

  • Providing resources such as diapers, wipes, school supplies, toys, clothes, bedding, and hygiene products from their resource center.
  • Assisting with housing costs.
  • Working with municipal groups to provide swim lessons and other community-based education.

They do all this with a small staff mostly consisting of volunteers. The support of the local community is crucial to their success. In a time of uncertainty and growing need, helping one child of trauma has a greater impact than we can ever know. By contributing to Warrior for Children, you become part of their mission to be a voice for the voiceless, a light in the darkness, and a difference-maker for the broken-hearted littles of the world.

We encourage everyone to get involved!
