"Next to jazz music, there is nothing that lifts the spirit and strengthens the soul more than a good bowl of chili." -Harry James
This chili recipe has become a staple at our house. I double the recipe so we have leftovers for nachos, dips, chili cheese hot dogs, and just another bowl of hearty chili. The amazingly delicious and super simple recipe is not a family secret but on the back of the McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix packet! Who knew the best chili was right in front of me?!
Ingredients for one packet:
- 1 pound of your choice of ground meat. Turkey, chicken, or beef work great! You could even leave the meat out if you'd like a vegetarian option.
- 1 packet of McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix - MILD version keeps it family-friendly
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of chili beans - although we have used black and pinto with the same great results
- Garnishes for toppings. Shredded cheese, pickled jalapeños, avocado, crushed tortilla chips, or sour cream
Directions:
- Brown your meat on medium-high. Drain any excess fat.
- Add in seasoning packet, beans, and tomatoes. Stir until combined.
- Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
This chili is so easy to make and the flavors seem to be even better the next day! Add some corn bread or fritos to create a one pot hearty meal for your family this weekend.
