Make these simple and easy marshmallow Halloween treats this week!
Kids of all ages will love dipping marshmallows in chocolate and decorating them as pumpkins, ghosts, witches or Frankenstein!
Here's what you'll need:
Colored andy Melts or white chocolate chips with food coloring
Shortening if you use real chocolate (not candy melts)
Lollipop Sticks
Foam Block to hold the sticks
Large Marshmallows
Thin Chocolate Cookies or pull apart Oreo cookies
Chocolate Kisses
Sprinkles -Orange, Green & Brown
Food Coloring Markers or use melted chocolate with piping bags
How you do it:
1. Melt the chocolate according to package directions.
2. Stick a lollipop stick into a marshmallow, without going all the way through the marshmallow.
3. Dip the marshmallow into the chocolate and gently tap extra chocolate off.
4. Add any sprinkles for witch hair, pumpkin stem, or Frankensteins neck bolts and set aside until the chocolate is tacky, but not hardened.
5. Follow the directions below or see the video for how to decorate each type.
For the witch hats:
Dip a kiss into the chocolate and place it on a cookie.
Once the chocolate is dry, place the hats onto the marshmallows and set aside to harden.
For Frankenstein's monsters:
Dip a kiss into the chocolate and place it on a cookie.
Once the chocolate is dry, place the hats onto the marshmallows and set aside to harden.
For Frankenstein's monsters:
Dip the top of the head into the chocolate and set aside to harden.
6. Once completely assembled, place pops into the fridge to harden the chocolate.
7. Once the chocolate is hardened, you can use the food coloring markers or piping bags (shown in the video) to draw faces on the pops.
Set aside to dry and ENJOY!
