Victoria Gardens to celebrate Santa’s arrival on Friday

RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> The towering Bavarian-style cottage adorned with Christmas ornaments and covered in numerous LED screens will be hard for Santa Claus to miss Friday night.
For the second year, Victoria Gardens is bringing “Adventure to Santa,” a cottage created by DreamWorks. The interactive holiday cottage will be unveiled during Victoria Gardens’ annual Santa’s Arrival event Friday night in Chaffey Town Square.
As part of the festivities, there will be a 45-foot holiday tree lighting and a fireworks show. Attendees will also be treated to the first “magical snowfall” in the Town Square.
“We are so thrilled to be able to offer shoppers this fantastic holiday experience for another magical season at Victoria Gardens,” said Melina Ferraez, director of marketing for Victoria Gardens said in a statement. “We expect this year’s DreamPlace to provide our guests with even more amazing holiday memories that they can cherish for years to come.”
But organizers have made a change to this year’s popular event. In order to accommodate as many guests as possible, the event will be standing room only. No chairs or other seating permitted in Chaffey Town Square during the event.
Created by DreamWorks, the 2,000-square-foot cottage referred to as DreamPlace allows participants to go on a 15-minute journey to the North Pole with some help from Shrek. Participants area able to create their own virtual sleigh and play a video game before meeting Kris Kringle.
Victoria Gardens is one of only two shopping centers in Southern California to feature “Adventure to Santa.” The second is t South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach.
Reservations are required in order to visit the DreamPlace, which is accepting reservations through Dec. 24 and can be made by visiting www.VictoriaGardensIE.com.
Friday’s event will begin at 7 p.m.
There will be a faux snow show will be every Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., as well as Sundays at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Carolers will perform each weekend in Victoria Gardens Chaffey Town Square through Dec. 23.
Performances will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (with the exception of Black Friday, Nov. 27), and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
